Nancy Byrne Iannucci is a Long Island native now living in upstate New York. Born to European parents, she is often drawn to the mythological traditions of her ancestral roots, threads that appear throughout her work and shape her poetic imagination.
Her writing is inspired by nature, music, and history, three forces she finds inherently romantic, mysterious, and ethereal. She has long been captivated by the mysticism of everyday life and the delicate boundary between the tangible world and the unseen. Often feeling as though she inhabits a space between these realms, she uses poetry to explore and reconcile her own sense of existence within that liminal territory.
Her love of books and the past also inform her work as a librarian at Albany Academy. When she is not cataloging or teaching in the library, she can be found wandering the fields and creek near her home, gathering the imagery and quietude that later emerge in her poems.
